Alan Wilson joined 33 St. James’s in 2012. He is based in Australia and he has worked in executive search and leadership consulting for the past 17 years.
Alan began his executive search career in 1995 with Russell Reynolds Associates, working in both the Sydney and Melbourne offices. In 1998 he joined Heidrick & Struggles to establish their Melbourne office. During these years Alan worked closely with the Singapore and Hong Kong offices on assignments across East and South East Asia and he was an active member of the Industrial and Natural Resources and Energy practices.
In 2001 Alan established his own boutique firm, Alan Wilson Consulting (AWC). AWC operates as a boutique executive search and leadership firm. Clients are a mix of listed public companies, private equity firms and Government Business Enterprises and assignments are typically at Board, Chief Executive or direct report levels. AWC also undertakes a range of management and Board Audit assignments and management development consulting, including Diversity work.
Prior to his executive search career Alan worked in investment banking and corporate consulting. This period included Chief Executive roles for two public listed companies and a number of Non-Executive directorships. His managerial experience covers a range of sectors, including agribusiness; minerals exploration and processing; and membrane technology.
Alan holds an MBA from IMD in Lausanne and a BA in Asian Studies from Griffith University, Brisbane. He is active in a number of community organisations and regularly undertakes pro bono or reduced fee assignments for charitable and philanthropic bodies.
