Surendra Daulet-Singh joined 33 St. James’s in 2013 and is based in India. He began his corporate career with the Indian operations of Grindlays Bank and worked in operations and corporate banking. He left the bank to join the British Bank of the Middle East (HSBC Group) in Mumbai, where he became its Chief Executive Officer. He then moved within the group to the Hong Kong Bank, Mumbai, as the Head of Human Resources for the group’s operations in India.
In 1995 he established GKR Daulet-Singh, an Executive Search business in India contributing a broad practical experience in all aspects of commercial banking and a specific understanding of Human Resources Management coupled with international quality retained Executive Search expertise. His experience encompasses Executive Search and Leadership Assessment / Development Centres.
Prior to this he spent 14 years of working with GKR & Associates of London which was later acquired by Whitehead Mann with whom he continued his career, representing their clients in India, in addition working on cross border assignments. These relationships helped him implement processes and systems in his practice which are at par with the best in the business.
Surendra has conducted several hundred leadership Searches across sectors at Chief Executive and Functional Head levels for prestigious multinational organisations and reputed Indian companies. Several Chief Executives in India have reached out to him for advice on various aspects of people management and talent acquisition.
Further Surendra has sat on the board of Directors of the reputed Indian pharmaceuticals company Ranbaxy Laboratories and the Indian’s operations of AVIVA Life Insurance.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the reputed St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and was schooled at the prestigious Mayo College, Ajmer.
