William Neilson, joined 33 St. James in 2008 where he leads the Life Sciences Practice, specialising in international pharmaceuticals and biotechnology matters, primarily in Europe and Asia. Having led a management buyout in 2004, he is Chairman of Talentmark, the international specialist Life Science recruitment company, founded over 40 years ago. A registered medical practitioner, he qualified in medicine at the Westminster Hospital, London after gaining a BSc in biochemistry at University College, London. Master of Public Health and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, he practised medicine in the UK and South Africa before entering the pharmaceutical industry.

William worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years and was based in Hong Kong, Switzerland, Paris, Copenhagen and the USA, with Pfizer and Dow Chemical and also the smaller international businesses of Jouveinal & Ferring. Latterly in London, he has been a Director of several life sciences service companies.

He is now based in Basel, Switzerland - the centre of the largest life sciences cluster in Europe - where he has set up Talentmark Life Sciences Consulting GmbH, to complement the London offices and to consult on managed services, product development, clinical trials / CROs, and new biopharma and medtech companies.
